Right now, the Senate is working on a big budget bill that could change healthcare for millions of people. The House of Representatives already passed a bill called the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” (H.R. 1), and it could make it harder for people to get or stay on Medicaid — the health insurance many families, kids, seniors, and veterans rely on — and healthcare plans through the Health Insurance Marketplace . The U.S. Senate must also pass the bill — either what is exactly in the House's bill or they can create their own. Regardless, the House and Senate bills will need to be identical. Our Senators need to hear from all of us as they are making these important decisions!

Community Health Centers (CHCs) are clinics that provide care to everyone, even if they do not have insurance or can’t afford to pay. But this new bill could take away Medicaid from up to 2 million people.

People who lose their insurance will still need to access healthcare. CHCs can provide that care in an efficient, cost-effective way that saves patient and taxpayer dollars, and we need adequate resources to continue to care for their communities.

Not only will people lose coverage, CHCs will lose precious resources, putting healthcare at risk for the many people who rely on their services.  That means your local doctor, nurse, dentist, therapist, etc. will also feel the impacts.
 

Why This Matters:

💊 Patients rely on CHCs to manage serious health issues like diabetes, high blood pressure, and depression.

💵 CHCs save money by keeping people out of emergency rooms and hospitals. 

 

We need the Senate to:

❌ Work with CHCs on policy changes that invest in primary care and deliver cost-savings to taxpayers

✅ Provide additional resources to CHCs so we can provide care to even more patients

💡 Support healthcare for everyone, no matter their income
