Alert HOUSE Members to Sign On: World Language Grants Program FY22 Funding Letter
Action Alert

Things are moving forward in Washington, D.C. as Congress begins the annual budget and appropriations season. JNCL-NCLIS is already hard at work to secure another $15 million for the World Language Advancement and Readiness Act (WLARA) Grants Program, which launched this year. Now we need your help to let members in the House of Representatives know that this funding is critical.

Reach out to your representatives and ask them to sign onto the House Dear Colleague letter led by Representatives Price and Young. This letter is addressed to House Appropriators and requests $15 million in FY22 funding for the WLARA through the forthcoming Department of Defense Appropriations bill.

The deadline for final signatures is April 22nd. We will need to move quickly to gather bipartisan support for this request.

To expedite this process, we have drafted a letter for you to send with one-click through our Legislative Action Center. We also encourage you to reach out to the House staffers with whom you met in February during Language Advocacy Day using the draft letter template.
