White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to rescind $810 million in federally appropriated FY26 funds
The White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has asked Congress to rescind $810 million in federally appropriated FY26 funds, including approximately $70 million of the funding that was supposed to flow to HEA Title VI domestic programs. As a result of this request, Title VI applicants may not receive any awards. Many in Congress as well as the nonpartisan Government  Accountability Office believe that this action violates the Impoundment Control Act and represents an infringement on Legislative Branch authority. We must act immediately to tell Congress to block this effort to attack, once again, language education funding. Please write to your Senators and US Representatives today!
