Fighting Fire with Funding
Creating relationships with your local representatives is the first step to securing continual, increased funding for California Local Fire Protection. One of the most challenging parts of the law-making process, which we are deeply involved in if we need to secure a new, permanent line of funding, is to find an author to champion our bill. Securing key relationships, and votes, in committees will help us with our future prospects.

Encouraging relationship building is a positive, foundational force for any district:

  • Strengthens communal ties, signifying the local fire district as a hub for community engagement.
  • Creates an easier line of communication to bring up any needs or celebrations, not just funding-related.
  • Gives younger members an upwards pathway, encouraging future prospects to better the fire service.
  • Relationships aren't just a one-time usage, we can rely on friendly legislators for future endeavors.
