              Why It Matters

The oil and gas industry in Kern County provides essential resources for both local and state energy needs. It contributes significantly to the economy, local job creation, and funding for community services such as schools, public safety, and infrastructure. Without a steady and reliable energy production system, California could face significant energy shortages and rising costs due to its reliance on imported oil.
