Congress must act to raise the refugee admissions level!
It’s time Congress restore welcome in America by setting a minimum floor for the annual refugee admissions level at 125,000, closer to its historic average.  The world is experiencing the worst refugee crisis in history. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) estimates there are 82.4 million forcibly displaced people, 26.4 million of which are refugees and half of whom are children.

The Guaranteed Refugee Admissions Ceiling Enhancement Act, or GRACE Act, would protect and restore the U.S. resettlement program by setting a minimum refugee admissions goal of 125,000 and increasing congressional oversight over the administration's operations of the resettlement program.

For decades, people of faith have welcomed refugees into our homes, houses of worship, and communities. We are called by our sacred texts and faith principles to love our neighbor, accompany the vulnerable, and welcome the sojourner.  Helping refugees who have fled their homes and who cannot rebuild their lives in the region is a moral imperative and the right thing to do.

Ask your legislator to restore the U.S.’s role as a global humanitarian leader and raise the refugee admissions level by passing the GRACE Act.
