Protect parental rights from government interference and support H.F. 819 - Contact your State Legislators today!
Now that the left is firmly in control of our country at the federal level, it’s up to individual states like Iowa to stand up to its radical agenda here on the homefront.

You may not have heard yet, but just last week, an important piece of proactive legislation that safeguards parental rights from any further efforts to transfer them to the state was introduced in the Iowa State House of Representatives, and referred to the Judiciary Committee.

The bill in question is House File (H.F.) 819 (originally introduced as H.F. 714), and, while it may still be in its early stages, it needs our steadfast support.

That’s why we’re asking you to also take a proactive approach and contact your State Legislators to request they vote in favor of this crucial legislation when it comes before them for a vote!

You can contact your State Legislators in one easy step using this simple contact form that LifeSiteNews.com is making available here, on the Voter Voice platform.

With one click, your message is sent directly to your representatives without having to look up any of their contact details.

H.F. 819 is a simple, concise piece of legislation that would, per the Iowa Catholic Conference, “codify current case law in Iowa that the right to direct the care and education of a child is a parent’s fundamental right.”

In other words, H.F. 819 reaffirms the basic right of parents to maintain their God-given autonomy over decisions pertaining to their children’s general health and well-being, which includes, per its text, the “upbringing, rearing, associations, care, education, custody, and control” of their children.

For instance, this bill will only strengthen parents’ ability to grant consent on behalf of their children in the classroom when it comes to being taught about personal matters, such as sex education, that would be best left to parents in the first place.

Additionally, it automatically grants all parents the presumption of “fitness” to preside over such decisions under the law, until and unless “clear and convincing” evidence proves otherwise.

It also clarifies that neither divorce nor marital status alone are grounds for the removal of such liberties, and explicitly states that any form of state action that violates parental rights will be subject to “strict scrutiny.”

If these protections sound basic – obvious, even – that’s because they are.

But with various efforts on behalf of leftists to seize control over children from their parents materializing across our country, reaffirming their rights legislatively as soon as possible has become a necessity.

We must never take something like this for granted, and it’s up to us to let our State Legislators know that we support this bill.

Please take a few minutes to contact your State Legislators and request that they vote in favor of H.F. 819 when it comes before them for a vote.

If passed, H.F. 819 could set the standard for how other states can act to protect parental sovereignty in these trying, uncertain times.

Parents must remain the sole authority in making decisions that pertain to their children, not the government, and H.F. 819 will ensure this remains the case.

Thank you for helping deliver this message to them.
