Ban public funding of abortion research & support HB 852 - Contact your State Legislators today!
With anti-life Democrats currently holding all the power in Washington, DC, it remains not only possible but plausible that the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits federal taxpayer funds from paying for abortion nationwide, may soon be on their chopping block.

The good news? Individual states are standing up to the federal government and stepping up to the plate to defend life (and taxpayers) as best they can, and Missouri is one of them.

A crucial new piece of legislation, House Bill (HB) 852, to prohibit public funds from being used for, among other things, abortion-related research has been introduced in the Missouri House of Representatives and needs our support!

While this is good news, the startling reality that this legislation is needed at all in the first place is a grim reminder that we still have much to gain and lose in the battle for life in America.

That's why we're asking you to contact your Missouri State Legislators and request they vote in favor of this important bill if and when it comes before them for a vote!

You can contact your State Legislators in one easy step using this simple contact form that LifeSiteNews.com is making available here, on the Voter Voice platform.

With one click, your message is sent directly to your representatives without having to look up any of their contact details.

The bill in question, which is sponsored by Republican State Representative Sara Walsh, is simple and direct -- less than a full page in length -- and would ban Missouri public funds from going towards research that involves, as previously stated, abortion-related services, as well as other controversial medical procedures including unnatural human cloning and more.

The full text of the bill reads as follows:

Chapter 188, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 188.209, to read as follows: 188.209. No public funds shall be expended, paid, or granted to or on behalf of an existing or proposed research project that involves abortion services, human cloning, or prohibited human research, as such terms are defined in section 196.1127.

A public hearing for HB 852 was held in the House Children and Families Committee last Wednesday, where it is currently pending approval.

Should it move forward in the legislative process successfully, the bill will head to the desk of Governor Mike Parson, who is likely to sign it into law.

But we need your help first: Our State Legislators must vote in the affirmative when HB 852 makes it to the floor for a full vote, and they should know that it has the support of Missourians like you!

Please take a few minutes to contact your State Legislators and request that they support HB 852 if and when it comes before them for a vote.

Missouri taxpayers should never have to foot the bill for research projects that focus on something as controversial, barbaric, and deadly as abortion, let alone unnatural human experimentation like cloning and beyond.

HB 852 will help ensure that they never have to, and it deserves the full support of our State Legislators.

Thank you for helping deliver this message to them.
