UPDATE: Protect Idaho Workers from Forced Vaccinations! -- Ask your State Legislators to convene a special session today
UPDATE:

In the time since our last contact, the Idaho State Legislature has begun to consider convening a special session in order to advance legislation to protect workers from mandatory vaccinations, and some lawmakers have expressed support for the idea.

But we need YOUR help to make it happen!

Can we count on you to take a few minutes to contact your State Legislators today, and ask them to work towards scheduling that session as soon as possible?

You can reach your State Legislators in one easy step using this simple contact form (see right) that we're making available here on LifeSite's Action Center.

With one click, your message is sent directly to their office without having to look up any contact details.

Then, please SHARE this important call to action with your friends and family members to spread the word across Idaho!

House Bill (HB) 140, which would protect Idaho workers from forced vaccinations and discrimination on the basis of their vaccination status, was APPROVED by the Idaho House of Representatives back in February by a decisive 49-21 margin.

But, unfortunately, the bill never got a hearing in the Senate before the State Legislature adjourned on March 26th, opening the door to potential employer-mandated vaccinations across Idaho.

And now, we're seeing the results come to fruition:  Just two weeks ago, the three largest health/hospital systems in Idaho all confirmed that they will be requiring all staff to get one of the new Covid-19 vaccines, or face termination for choosing against doing so.

This has led to some members of the Idaho Legislature actively advocating for members to return to Boise as soon as possible to get a ban on employer-mandated vaccinations across the finish line, but they're still facing resistance and/or reluctance from both sides of the aisle...

Democrats in the Legislature have made no secret about their support for mandatory vaccinations, releasing a statement last Thursday firmly stating their opposition to convening a special session to tackle this matter.

And while Republican leaders in the State Legislature have declared very much the opposite, they haven't given any indication that they will take action to schedule a special session any time soon, either...

In fact, the Senate Republican caucus has instead stated its support for holding a series of meetings with "business leaders, the Governor's office, and our colleagues in House leadership" to "find solutions that will protect the employees, patients, and the viability of our healthcare systems in Idaho," but gave no word on whether they'd work to revive HB 140 in a potential special session.

But the reality is this shouldn't be a controversial matter.

So the fact that Democrats in the Idaho Legislature remain fully opposed to common-sense vaccine rights legislation, along with the tepid response of some in Republican leadership, should raise a red flag.

All Idahoans should be free to, if they so desire, choose against getting vaccinated for Covid-19, be it for medical, faith-based, or simply personal reasons, and nobody's job or livelihood should be used as leverage in that decision-making process.

That's why we're calling on you to let your elected officials know that you support the idea of a special legislative session to consider, debate, and ultimately approve HB 140, or similar legislation that will protect the rights of working Idahoans to decide for themselves -- without coercion or threat of termination -- whether to get the new Covid-19 shot.

Please take a few minutes to contact your State Legislators -- both in the Idaho House and Senate -- and ask them to work towards scheduling a special legislative session to consider legislation to ban employer-forced vaccinations here in Idaho.

Thank you!
