Accountability Matters! -- Ask Governor-Elect Youngkin to deliver on his promises and defend medical freedom!
UPDATE (11/19/2021):

As you may recall, just two weeks ago, we contacted you in the wake of Glenn Youngkin's upset victory in Virginia's gubernatorial election, asking you to hold the new Governor-Elect accountable for keeping the promises he made on the campaign trail.

And with just under two months to go until the inauguration, we need YOUR help to ensure that message is delivered loudly and clearly.

In a disappointing pronouncement during an interview with WRIC earlier this week, Governor-Elect Youngkin stated that he would not attempt to stop Virginia localities from implementing their own vaccine and mask mandates upon taking office in January.

Youngkin, who himself has gotten the Covid-19 vaccine and openly advocates for it, had repeatedly promised on the campaign trail that he would issue no mandate as Governor, and would stand against federal and state government attempts to implement them. "You won't see mandates from me," he reiterated in that same interview.

However, the Governor-Elect seems to have forgotten that any mandate issued by ANY government entity is unconstitutional, even at the local level, and that the voters of Virginia elected him to stand up for their rights in the face of unprecedented infringement against individuals' medical autonomy.

Can we count on YOU to remind him of this?

Please take a few minutes today, if you haven't already, to sign onto our Accountability Campaign for Governor-Elect Youngkin, and to remind him that the voters of Virginia expect him to keep true to his campaign promises, including those to stand up for Virginians' medical autonomy by opposing and fighting against ALL vaccine and mask mandates.

You can reach Governor-Elect Youngkin in one easy step using this simple contact form (see right) that we're making available here on LifeSite's Action Center.

HUGE NEWS:

Glenn Youngkin has WON Virginia's gubernatorial election!

Now, we're asking you to take this opportunity to send Governor-Elect Youngkin a message of congratulations, encouraging him to follow through on his promises during the campaign to protect the people of Virginia from vaccine mandates, ban Critical Race Theory, and defend life under state law.

In a stunning victory considered unlikely by most just a few months ago, the Republican businessman has managed to turn the political tides in the Old Dominion!

And with just over two months until the inauguration, there couldn't be a better time to both congratulate the Governor-Elect, but also remind him why Virginians voted for him in the first place, and that we -- the people -- expect him to follow through on his promises.

Can we count on you to contact Governor-Elect Youngkin today, and ask him to make good on his campaign promises in order to advance a pro-life, pro-family, and pro-freedom agenda here in Virginia?

You can reach your Governor-Elect Youngkin in one easy step using this simple contact form (see right) that we're making available here on LifeSite's Action Center.

Then, please SHARE this important information with your friends and family members to spread the word across our commonwealth!

On Tuesday night, Glenn Youngkin led a remarkable conservative comeback in the Old Dominion, becoming the first Republican to win a statewide election in Virginia (along with Lieutenant Governor-Elect Winsome Sears and Attorney General-Elect Jason Miyares) since 2009.

In addition, as of today, Republicans are also likely to hold a majority in the Virginia House of Delegates, winning at least 50 seats -- exactly half of the chamber -- with four close, outstanding races yet to be called.

This means that, under the incoming Youngkin Administration, major changes could soon be coming to our commonwealth, and the Governor-Elect has indeed laid out an agenda for even his earliest days in office.

For instance, Governor-Elect Youngkin has rolled out his Day One Plan to address a number of major issues facing Virginia, including burdensome taxes, economic growth, and restoring support for law enforcement.

However, one of its most notable priorities is education -- arguably the primary reason Governor-Elect Youngkin was elected in the first place.

In his Day One Plan, Youngkin pledges to "empower parents and restore excellence and commonsense in education" by, among other things, keeping Virginia schools OPEN, creating new charter schools to expand school choice, and banning Critical Race Theory in classrooms.

And, of course, Youngkin has made clear numerous times that he intends to expand parental rights, and ensure that parents play a more active role in their children's classroom(s) by increasing transparency and dismantling indoctrination efforts by certain Virginia school systems.

Other important points in this plan include restoring Voter ID requirements and protecting the constitutional rights of Virginians.

Additionally, the Governor-Elect, who has openly gotten the Covid-19 vaccine himself, has nonetheless repeatedly voiced his own opposition to vaccination mandates, and has vowed to oppose any and all efforts, at the state or federal level, to require working people, children and students, or any Virginian to get the jab against their own wishes.

With the Biden Administration's public vaccination coercion campaign still in full-swing, Governor-Elect Youngkin's promise to stand up for Virginians' medical autonomy will prove invaluable at this most important period in time.

Likewise, the Governor-Elect has also stated that he would support a "pain threshold" bill to cut down on abortion in the Commonwealth of Virginia. While this is encouraging, it is but a small step forward; and it is worth noting that Youngkin did make a disappointing admission that he would not have supported a Texas-style Heartbeat Bill for our state.

With this in mind, it is important to remind Governor-Elect Youngkin that ALL Virginians' right to life must be protected under the law.

Just as Roe v. Wade is on the precipice of being rethought by the Supreme Court, we need a Governor who will stand up for life from the moment of conception.

All things considered, there are many reasons to be optimistic about the incoming Youngkin Administration, and what the coming shift in focus from radical government expansion and identity politics to pro-freedom, bread-and-butter issues will mean for Virginia going forward.

But, as always, it is most important to hold our elected officials accountable, and Governor-Elect Youngkin is no exception.

So please, take a few minutes today to contact Governor-Elect Youngkin, extend your congratulations on his victory, and let him know that we expect him to deliver on an agenda that prioritizes life, family, and freedom here in the Old Dominion.

Thank you!
