As the June primary approaches in Virginia, it's important we get a clear statement from State Sen. Kiggans that she will never again support pro-abortion or LGBT interests, which represent threats to human life and the family respectively.

State Sen. Kiggans is one of four Republicans running in the primary for Virginia’s 2nd District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives...and, so far, she is the front-runner in terms of funds raised.

But, is she deserving of support from Christians and conservatives in Virginia? Some of her policy positions should give us pause. 

Her support for the Virginia Values Act, which added sexual orientation and gender identity to the state’s nondiscrimination law, is one policy position that must be challenged.

This law has been interpreted as forcing businesses, such as photographers, to participate in same-sex “weddings,” as well as forcing female public school students to share restrooms with males, although Kiggans insists she did not intend any of these outcomes.

Additionally, while the pro-abortion group NARAL gave the senator’s voting record a 0 percent score for 2021, they say that she voted with them 25 percent of the time in 2020.

The House seat at stake is currently held by Democrat Rep. Elaine Luria. It's now the job of conservative voters to ensure there is a truly conservative candidate chosen in the primaries to contest this important November election.
