UPDATE (02/08/24): Poilievre has succumbed to pressure from pro-family advocates like you and finally spoken out in support of the Alberta bill.

After seeming to dodge the issue for a week, and silencing his colleagues' approval of the measure, Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre has finally voiced support for Alberta’s ban on “transitioning” kids.

On February 7, Poilievre told reporters on Parliament Hill that he is opposed to the use of “puberty blockers” for children, a week after Alberta introduced legislation that would protect children from the worst results of transgender ideology.    

“I think that we should protect children and their ability to make adult decisions when they’re adults,” said Poilievre. 

“You are against puberty blockers for children under the age of 18, to be clear,” a reporter pressed.  

“Yes,” Poilievre responded. 

This marks a decisive victory for all of you who took part in our VoterVoice campaign, but lets keep up the pressure on all MPs and Senators as we seek a federal ban on mutilating surgery for gender-confused children.

As Alberta looks set to restrict mutilating surgeries for gender-confused children, Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre has told his party colleagues not to comment on the new policies. 

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith announced the raft of transgender policy plans last week, in a move that would better protect vulnerable children in Alberta. 

Pierre Poilievre does not deem them praiseworthy, however, preferring to silence supporters of the measures within his party rather than push for nationwide protection for all children. He reportedly sent out an email warning fellow conservatives not to comment on the new policies. 

Send an urgent message to your Senators, MP and Poilievre telling them to condemn transgender mutilation. 

The policies include a ban on gender reassignment surgery for children, a ban on puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones for children under 16, and a requirement for parental notification and consent before a student under 16 can change his or her name or pronoun at school. 

Abundant research has shown the devastating effects of “transitioning,” especially for children. There are countless horrifying stories of males and females who “transitioned,” only to realize later in life how destructive the procedure ends up being for their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. It also makes children less safe from sex predators. 

When passed, Alberta’s new policies will be an excellent start toward defeating the evil lies of transgenderism in Canada. 

Send an urgent message today, asking your legislators to defend Canadian families. 

The reality that one of Alberta’s own leading “conservatives” would actively attempt to shut down any positive analysis of the policies, and thus the truth, is unacceptable. He is instead allowing the mutilation of children to go without mention.  

Our leaders are supposed to protect the truth and the families they serve, not seek their harm. 

We must demand that they defend these new pro-family policies and seek to pass legislation that furthers the values Canadians hold dear.
