Massachusetts is setting new records for all time high gas prices every day. At the same time that some MA residents are shelling out as much as $5 a gallon for gasoline, Beacon Hill is flush with more cash than they know what to do with. In April, the state collected over 80% more tax dollars than they had projected and budgeted for!

Temporarily suspending the state gas tax is an easy, affordable, and common-sense way that the state can quickly provide some degree of relief to motorists. Liberal Connecticut and New York have both suspended their state gas taxes, while New Hampshire is currently in the process of doing so. It’s time for Massachusetts to join them!
