While a judge blocked the freeze on federal funds and the directive was later rescinded, critical programs were disrupted and future support for food security and other anti-poverty programs were thrown into jeopardy. 

Let us be clear: President Trump does not have the power to override or withhold federal aid that Congress has authorized and allocated, and Members of Congress must not allow these reckless and destructive actions to continue.
