US Senate: It is Time to Act on Newborn Screening!

Did you know that 12,000 babies are born each year with a condition, such as SMA and Pompe, that would have gone undetected if not for the Newborn Screening Program? Newborn screening is the most effective way to spot diseases early, so babies can receive the life changing and lifesaving treatment they need, when they need it.

Unfortunately, the Newborn Screening Program remains unauthorized. The U.S. House just passed the Newborn Screening Saves Lives Reauthorization Act, which will not only reauthorize the program, but also strengthen it. Newborn screening truly saves lives, but we need the Senate to fully support the program.

Urge your Senators to cosponsor the Newborn Screening Saves Lives Reauthorization Act today!
