Support equitable funding for your charter students!

Tell your lawmaker to fund charter schools equitably!

Did you know that every single Michigan charter school student is funded an average 20% less than students in traditional public schools? That's $2,782 LESS per student - and as taxpaying constituents, it's up to us to speak up. At MAPSA, we know that our Michigan charters are full of passionate, amazing educators who are creating exceptional opportunities for students - and that they find creative ways to provide those opportunities on a very tight budget. However, in Governor Whitmer's budget proposal, there is still a funding gap between public charter schools and traditional public schools. Together, we can change that.

As the 2019-20 State Budget is released, lawmakers will vote on how much charter school students are worth. As the dedicated parents, teachers, school leaders and advocates who look out for those kids - now is the time to demand equitable funding for charters.

It only takes 60 seconds to send an email to your lawmakers - our voices NEED to be heard.
