Unless Congress acts soon, nearly 1.8 million young people, known as Dreamers, may face deportation from the United States beginning as early as March 6.
Dreamers are the 1.8 million young people who were brought to the United States as children or infants by their parents through no fault of their own. They often know America as their only home.
The U.S. Senate may hold the key to whether Dreamer legislation passes, which is why this alert focuses solely on the U.S. Senate. Missouri's two U.S. Senators-Roy Blunt and Claire McCaskill-can help forge a bipartisan agreement and protect the Dreamers.
Now is not the time to point fingers and cast blame, but to come together and enact legislation to protect the Dreamers. Missouri's two U.S. Senators can offer a courageous example for the rest of the Senate.
These Dreamers are more important than party politics.
Bipartisan legislation should protect Dreamers from deportation and provide them a path to citizenship. The legislation should also allow families to reunite through the immigration process.
We will contact you Monday to ask you to participate in a national call-in on Monday, February 26. But please do not wait until Monday to contact your Senators-send this email TODAY!
