Archbishop Naumann Sues Satanists over Alleged Theft of Eucharist
Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann of Kansas City, Kansas, has filed a motion for the return of the Eucharist, a consecrated host and consecrated wine a satanic group claims to have stolen, with the archbishop stating that all sacred species are the property of the Catholic Church. Court documents show that on March 14, Archbishop Naumann filed a petition in federal district court to recover the Eucharist under state laws governing the return of wrongfully taken or held personal property.
This legal action occurs in anticipation of a satanic black mass scheduled to take place outdoors on the Kansas state capitol grounds on March 28. The procedure of a satanic mass typically requires the desecration of a consecrated host taken from a Catholic Church; thus, any host present in a black mass is consequentially property stolen from the Church. According to the Archdiocese of Kansas City, representatives of the satanist group have contacted them directly to confirm that they have possession of the stolen sacrament.
The Church teaches that upon consecration at Mass, the substance of the bread and wine offerings becomes the substance of Jesus Christ – body, blood, soul, and divinity – while still retaining the appearances of bread and wine. It is precisely this transubstantiative property of the sacrament that makes Catholic hosts the target of disrespect at the hands of satanists.
The court held a hearing on the matter on March 20 and will presumably make a decision on the issue prior to March 28, when the black mass is scheduled to occur.

Midwest March for Life
Missourians will have the opportunity to come together to witness for the unborn, women, and families at the 2025 Midwest March for Life. The event will be held on Thursday, May 1, at the Missouri State Capitol. There will be an opening rally with life-affirming speakers, a march to stand for life, a National Day of Prayer event, and Holy Mass at the Proto-Cathedral of Saint Peter celebrated by Bishop Edward Rice of the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau. Missouri Prison Nursery Program Welcomes First Baby
Missouri’s first prison nursery program welcomed its first baby last week. Baby Dawson is the first infant to join the new program at the Women’s Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correction Center in Vandalia. According to a post by the Missouri Department of Corrections, resident caregivers and staff described Dawson, born to WERDCC Dallas Strunk, as “very chill”.
The nursery wing in the Vandalia prison is the first of its kind in Missouri and the 10th nationally. Under the 2022 bill establishing the program (which was supported by the MCC), eligible pregnant inmates and the children born to them can reside in the institution together for up to 18 months, post-delivery. Previously, pregnant inmates in Missouri were separated from their newborns shortly after birth. In addition to being able to care for and bond with their new babies, the mothers will receive support in caring for their child, reentry services, and learning opportunities to reduce recidivism.
First-Ever Eucharistic Congress for the Catholic Deaf Community
The National Shrine of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton will host the first-ever “Eucharistic Congress for the Catholic Deaf Community” in Emmitsburg, Maryland, between April 4 and 6. On the first day, participants will have the opportunity to visit Mother Seton Museum, her house, and the Basilica; ASL (American Sign Language) tour guides will be available. Adoration, confessions, and Mass will be held on Saturday, along with presentations by Jeanine Adkins (“The Healing Power of the Eucharist”) and Deacon Pat Graybill (“Eucharist: Holy Ground”). On Sunday, Mass will be held with the local deaf Catholic community in Urbana, Maryland.
The event is being organized by Fr. Mike Depcik, an Oblate of St. Francis de Sales who serves as the chaplain for deaf ministry in the Archdiocese of Baltimore and is one of the few deaf priests in the world. In an interview with the Catholic News Agency, Fr. Depcik said that “this Deaf Eucharistic Congress is unique and focused entirely on members of the deaf Catholic community, which includes the deaf, hard of hearing, deafblind, hearing pastoral workers who engage in deaf ministry, parents of deaf children, etc. We believe this event is going to be a memorable one, since it will be the first time ever for such a Eucharistic Congress specifically by and for deaf Catholics.”

Espacio infantil de la prisión de Vandalia recibe a su primer bebé
En febrero, la cárcel para mujeres de Vandalia inauguró un espacio para bebés y sus madres, el primero de su tipo en Missouri y décimo a nivel nacional. Primer Congreso Eucarístico para la comunidad de sordos católicos en EE.UU.
Entre el 4 y 6 de abril de 2025, el Santuario Nacional de Sta. Elizabeth Ann Seton, en Maryland, acogerá el primer “Congreso Eucarístico para la comunidad de sordos católicos" de Estados Unidos. El primer día, los participantes podrán visitar el Museo de la Madre Seton, su casa y la basílica, con tours guiados en ASL (lenguaje de señas americano). El sábado habrá adoración eucarística, confesiones y misas, además de conferencias por parte de Jeanine Adkins y el Diác. Pat Graybill. El evento está siendo coordinado por el P.
