Meals on Wheels America Applauds Bipartisan House Resolution Honoring the Older Americans Act and Meals on Wheels
July 20, 2023 by Meals on Wheels

On the anniversary of the Older Americans Act (OAA), Meals on Wheels America President and CEO Ellie Hollander issued a press statement applauding House Resolution 594. Led by Representatives Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR-06), Elise Stefanik (R-NY-21), and Jim McGovern (D-MA-02), alongside 21 additional cosponsors, this resolution recognizes the value of OAA Nutrition Programs in addressing hunger, malnutrition and isolation, and improving the health and quality of life for millions of our nation’s seniors each year. Ahead of the September 30 deadline to fund federal programs, Meals on Wheels America is eager to work with Congress and the Administration to continue to build on the strong bipartisan support that exists for OAA Nutrition Programs by providing a minimum of $1.3 billion in the Labor-Health and Human Services and Education bill to address increasing demand and higher operating costs.
