Meals on Wheels America joined 144 organizations in a letter to Congressional leadership urging Congress to include the Medically Tailored Home Delivered Meals Demonstration Pilot Act in any legislative package to improve healthcare and the economy. The bill would direct the Secretary of Health and Human Services to conduct a 4-year demonstration pilot program to provide Medically Tailored Meals interventions to some of our nation’s most vulnerable Medicare enrollees. As Meals on Wheels America has been a longtime advocate of Medically Tailored Meals, the Medically Tailored Home-Delivered Meals Demonstration Pilot Act builds upon the evidence that exists in support the provision of these meals as a research-based intervention to help treat and manage illness.
