Act Now to Stop Higher Health Insurance Costs in Colorado
Colorado lawmakers are moving quickly on Senate Bill 178, a proposal that will increase health insurance costs for individuals, families, and small businesses.

SB 178 imposes a $40 million assessment on health insurance carriers to fund the Health Insurance Affordability Enterprise. These costs are passed directly to consumers through higher premiums.

Coloradans have already paid more than $800 million in additional premiums under this program. This bill would add even more, increasing costs by an estimated $160 per household each year at a time when coverage is already difficult to afford.

With only days left in the legislative session, this bill is advancing before the state completes a required performance audit.

Tell your Senator today to oppose SB 178 and protect access to affordable coverage.
