Call Congress and Urge Them to Support Head Start!
Head Start is a federally funded program that provides comprehensive and high quality early childhood education, health, and nutrition services to low-income children and families. Head Start serves nearly 750,000 children each year, and provides significant short- and long-term benefits to participating young children and families.

Advocates had been concerned for weeks about reports that the President’s Budget proposal would call for the elimination of Head Start. While the President’s budget proposal did not, in the end, specify cuts to Head Start, threats remain, in the form of staffing cuts, funding delays, and other executive actions. It is still crucial that advocates reach out to their Members of Congress to remind them about the important role Head Start plays in supporting young children and families in communities across the country.

Take a moment to call your elected representatives so they can hear from you about why they should invest in, not cut Head Start.
