Urge your Legislators to Support the H–1Bs for Physicians and the Healthcare Workforce Act
Last September, President Trump signed a Proclamation requiring new H-1B Visa applicants to pay a fee of $100,000. This fee is dangerous for rural communities that rely on H-1B doctors to staff and provide care at their facilities.

Fortunately, a bipartisan group of lawmakers introduced the H–1Bs for Physicians and the Healthcare Workforce Act on March 17, 2026. Led by Representatives Mike Lawler (NY-17), Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02), Maria Elvira Salazar (FL-27), and Yvette Clarke (NY-09), the bill would exempt health care workers from the $100,000 fee and prevent new H-1B fees from being imposed on health care workers that exceed this fee.

Please click here to urge your legislators to support the H-1B for Physicians and Healthcare Workforce Act and protect access to care in rural America.
