Children with digestive diseases and disorders are still waiting for Congress to pass the Safe Step Act and bring urgent reforms to the practice of step therapy. The current one-size-fits-all step therapy policies often delay access and lead to severe side effects.  Urge your lawmakers to support the Safe Step Act and end these one-size-fits-all step therapy policies.

The Safe Step Act (H.R. 5509/S. 2903) would ensure that employer health insurance plans offer an expedient and medically reasonable step therapy exceptions process. Actions like this is what got the Safe Step Act to unprecedented levels of bipartisan support in the last Congress. But we haven’t met that same threshold this year! 

Your lawmakers need to hear from you to understand that medical decision-making should be between patients and their providers, not insurers.
