HB 1939 (adopting the social work licensure compact) advanced from Senate Rules and is now on the Senate Floor calendar for 2nd Reading. The legislature moves quickly and our hope is that the bill will pass the Senate soon!

HB 1939 (adopting the social work licensure compact) was heard on the Senate Floor today -- it advanced from 2nd read to final passage and passed with 49 ayes, 0 nays!

The next steps are to go from the legislature to the Governor's desk! This is great news for Washington social workers and beyond. 

We are excited that this important legislation has advanced and look forward to the work ahead!
