Tell Congress: Biodiesel Is the Best Carbon Reduction Tool Available Today
In September 2021, the House Agriculture Committee adopted legislative language to be added to the $3.5 trillion Build Back Better Act that would create a 10 year Biofuel Infrastructure and Market Expansion Program within USDA and the Farm Bill.

Sens. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Joni Ernst (R-IA) earlier in the year sponsored the Biofuel Infrastructure and Agricultural Product Market Expansion Act of 2021 (S 2271) and Reps. Cindy Axne (D-IA), Dusty Johnson (R-SD), Angie Craig (D-MN), and Rodney Davis (R-IL) sponsored the Renewable Fuel Infrastructure Investment and Market Expansion Act of 2021 (S 227/HR 1542). These proposals would continue USDA's Higher Blends Infrastructure Incentive Program, which provides matching grants to support investment in biodiesel infrastructure and increase consumer access to clean fuels.

To date, USDA's HBIIP program has provided $23.2 million in matching grants to 24 projects that will support more than 900 million gallons of biodiesel storage and market access, in communities from Hawaii to Maine.

Contact your elected officials and ask them to co-sponsor this legislation and ensure that it is included in any infrastructure or agriculture bill that Congress passes this year.
