NBCC Partners With the National Council for Mental Wellbeing for 2024 Hill Day!
May 3, 2024 by NBCC Government Affairs

NBCC has partnered with The National Council for Metal Wellbeing for their Hill Day and Public Policy Institute, and we would like to invite you to join us in Washington, D.C., on June 5–6. This is the National Council’s 20th annual Hill Day and is an in-person event for the first time since 2019.

This is a time to come together, connect with one another, and meet with lawmakers and their staff. We hope you will consider learning more about Hill Day and making your voice heard on the Hill.

The 2-day program offers opportunities to:

  • attend the Public Policy Institute on Wednesday, June 5, and hear from the Biden-Harris administration, congressional staff, and advocacy experts on the latest mental health and substance use policy developments.
  • explore the new realities of the post-COVID federal funding landscape.
  • dive into the 2024 election cycle and its impacts on behavioral health in America.
  • get up to speed on key legislation and talking points, including best practices on making the most out of your Hill Day meetings.
  • meet directly with the offices of your elected officials on Thursday, June 6, to share solutions and demand action to support and grow the workforce, as well as expand access to comprehensive mental health and substance use care.

This year the “Legislative Asks” topics include Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics, Substance Use Disorders, Workforce, and Crisis Care & 988. NBCC will be sharing additional information about the 2024 Legislative Asks that will be part of Hill Day as we move toward June 5–6.

Registration is free and now open. Hill Day will be hosted this year at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill. The National Council has arranged a discounted room rate for your hotel stay. Hill Day discounted room rates are available only by using the official Hill Day 2024 housing website link, which you will receive—along with instructions—in your confirmation email after registering.

Please note: Space at Hill Day is relatively limited and depending on which state you register from, you may be asked initially to join a waitlist. If you are prompted to join a wait list, the National Council will be in touch regarding next steps. As space becomes available, you will be notified.

The Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill is located downtown at 400 New Jersey Ave. NW, Washington, D.C. 20001. Be sure to register and book your room by May 6 to guarantee you’ll receive the discounted hotel room rate.
