NBCC Cosponsors Congressional Briefings on Counselor Medicare Legislation
March 29, 2018 by NBCC Government Affairs
House bill H.R. 3032 and Senate bill S. 1879, both of which authorize counselors to serve Medicare beneficiaries, were praised last week at a congressional briefing sponsored by the NBCC, the National Council for Behavioral Health, and several other organizations.

Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY, pictured below), one of the main sponsors of S. 1879, spoke in support of the bills. “These are our families, these are our friends, these are our children. If you can save one life, you can make a difference forever.” Attendees included congressional staff members and representatives from several stakeholder groups.
