Tell Congress to Increase Funding for the Minority Fellowship Program!

The President's 2019 fiscal year budget eliminated funding for the Minority Fellowship Program (MFP). Appropriators in Congress are now preparing to allocate funds for the new fiscal year, and the NBCC Foundation needs your help to ensure the program continues.

The Minority Fellowship Program provides scholarships to minority mental health and addiction professionals in the fields of counseling, psychiatry, psychology, social work, nursing, marriage and family therapy, and addictions. The program's mission is to increase the number of culturally competent behavioral health professionals who provide mental health and substance use disorders services to underserved populations.

Contact your legislators today and tell them that now is the time to increase funding for this vital program, not eliminate it. You can use the tools below to call, email, and message your legislators telling them to increase funding for the Minority Fellowship Program.

We urge you to personalize the message highlighting your experience with the program.  You should share how the program benefited you and the community you serve. It only takes a few minutes of your time, and your advocacy can make a significant impact on the profession.

Please share any response you receive from your congressional offices with govtaffairs@nbcc.org. Thank you for your assistance!
