Tell Congress to Include S.286/H.R. 945 in COVID-19 Relief Bill!
Congress is considering the next bill to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. The health care system is in focus as lawmakers try to ensure that providers are able to combat the spread of the virus. NBCC is urging Congress to consider the mental health impacts of this health crisis and include S. 286/H.R. 945, the Mental Health Access Improvement Act, in the next relief package. This legislation would allow mental health counselors to bill Medicare for counseling services.

In this time of social distancing, Medicare beneficiaries will be even further isolated and more at risk of developing anxiety, depression, substance use disorder, or other mental health challenges. Medicare beneficiaries are also experiencing high amounts of stress as they and their loved ones are at highest risk for contracting and experiencing severe complications from COVID-19

We need your help! Please use the tools below to email, call, and tweet at your representative and senators and tell them to include S.286/H.R. 295, the Mental Health Access Improvement Act, in the next COVID-19 relief package! We have prepared draft messages for you, but please feel free to edit them with your own personal experiences.
