Please advocate for increased access to mental health services by sharing with your legislators that as of December 2022, 17 states (Compact Map) have passed legislation to join the compact. The first compact commission meeting was held on October 25-26, 2022. The counseling compact is more important now than ever before! The global pandemic has dramatically expanded the need for telehealth services. Due to significant shifts in client mobility, including opportunities for remote work and education, cross-state movement and engagement has increased. This further highlights the need for counselors to have the privilege to practice in multiple states and Connecticut's citizens will be well-served by enacting HB 5142.
