Your voice is needed now in support of the Hyde Amendment! There is a hot debate taking place in the U.S. Senate as to whether or not the Hyde Amendment, which prevents taxpayer dollars from paying for health plans that cover elective abortions, should be included in a final healthcare bill that could hit the Senate floor early next week. 

Last Wednesday, Bishop Thomas, Chairman of the USCCB Committee on Pro-Life Activities, issued a statement affirming the Hyde Amendment, stating that “the U.S. bishops have long opposed any proposals to expand taxpayer funding of abortion and will continue to do so, including, if necessary, in the current debates in Congress over health care affordability plans.”

Send a message to your two U.S. Senators urging them to include the Hyde Amendment in the final version of the healthcare bill. There is a long history of support for the Hyde Amendment. Taxpayer dollars should not fund plans that cover elective abortion.
