Nebraska Legislature Fails to Advance Bill Benefiting Low-Income Families
Dear Advocates,

Today 20 State Senators prioritized politics over parents’ rights. After eight hours of vigorous debate on the Legislative floor, the cloture vote to end debate and take a vote on the bill failed 29 to 18 (2 Senators were “present-not voting”). Send a message to your senator now about their vote.

Although many senators were swayed by misinformation and special interest groups, there were many senators who gave passionate and convincing speeches in support of helping low-income families have educational choice.

Watch morning debate here – and check out Senator Justin Wayne’s speech at 29:12.

Watch afternoon/evening debate here – and listen to Senator Mike Flood’s speech at 4:53:22.

We are so grateful to Senator Lou Ann Linehan for her tireless championing of school choice and fighting for children and parents! Please send her a message of thanks at llinehan@leg.ne.gov.

Thank you to all of you for your prayers and advocacy over the past several months. We will continue to advocate for educational freedom in Nebraska and for giving all kids a chance at a better future!
