No Federal Funds for Homeless Detention Camps

Everybody needs a safe place to live. Instead of focusing on proven solutions to homelessness, like housing and support, Utah is proposing taking money away from programs that solve homelessness to build a massive, remote, government-run detention camp.

This is a five-alarm fire. Utah's detention camp would include 1,300 beds, including hundreds of beds where people will be held against their will.  This is an awful turning point in how our country treats people who can’t afford rent.

Utah has indicated that it will ask the Federal Government to help fund this project. We need your help to tell HUD, "No Federal Funding for Homeless Detention Camps."
