Springfield Cancels Hearing to Restrict Dietary Supplement Access
Springfield has a bullseye on the dietary supplement industry. A bill that would require your local health food store to put dietary supplements under lock and key was scheduled to be heard today in a hearing that was cancelled at the last minute.
Americans trust the quality and safety of supplements, as evidenced by the simple fact that more than three of every four Americans use them daily.
As you know, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has strict requirements for how new dietary ingredients are introduced and allowed to be sold to the public and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has the authority over false advertising claims.
Springfield doesn’t understand our industry. They don’t get that these supplements are made from natural ingredients and found in foods.
The fight isn’t over. We expect that the bill’s hearing will be rescheduled. That is why I am calling on you to let your representation in Springfield know HB-3948 hurts our industry and is wrong for Illinois.
Tell Springfield to stand up for what is right by sending this letter today.
Thank you,

Kyle Turk
