Support Expanding Access to Supplements
Last year, North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer introduced legislation that would modernize the treatment of dietary supplements for Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), and Health Reimbursement Accounts (HRAs). On Friday, Senator Mike Lee introduced Amendment 252 which expands access to vitamins through HSAs and FSAs.
For years, our industry has supported policies, such as this one, that would provide consumers with greater choice, promote healthy lifestyles, and encourage consumers to take preventative measures when it comes to their health.
This low-cost high-reward public policy is one as a nation we must embrace. Far too many people are nutrient deficient in this country and this is an opportunity for those who wish to supplement their diets to be reimbursed for their out of pocket expenses.
It's imperative that your senators support expanding access to supplements through HSAs, FSAs, and HRAs.
