The Small Business Administration (SBA) issued a new proposed rule that would dramatically increase the size of companies considered “small” for purposes of federal programs. Complicating matters, the proposal allows only a 30-day comment period, a highly expedited timeline for such a massive rewrite of rules.
Urge lawmakers to examine these standards and consider whether they make sense for their constituents. If not, lawmakers should question SBA on the methodology underpinning these standards and encourage the agency to draft a new set of regulations better aligned with small business interests.
