Due to the ongoing debate in Congress over the funding of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has been shutdown since February 14. This shutdown has delayed the application period for Assistance for Firefighter Grants (AFG), and Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response Grants (SAFER). It has also closed the U.S. Fire Administration and the National Fire Academy. Please use this link to tell Congress to immediately either come to an agreement on DHS funding or restore funding to these key fire service programs.
