Kuptz set to serve as Dean for Leadership Academy
The Nevada REALTORS® annual Leadership Academy is gearing up for another year of programming. Its first of four sessions is set for Feb. 12-14 in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The 2018 program will be led by Dean Tim Kuptz, a Henderson-based Broker-REALTOR®. Kuptz, a 2015 graduate of the program, has been a Leadership Academy Trustee the past two years. Sixteen REALTORS® from across the Silver State are scheduled to participate in the 2018 program.

"I'm excited to carry on the great legacy this program has established," Kuptz said. "Facilitating the discovery and growth of the participants during the year-long path is an honor."

Tiffany Banks, the Nevada Realtors® leadership academy staff liaison shared similar sentiments.

"All of us here at Nevada Realtors® work hard to create an exceptional environment and program fostering the personal and professional advancement of each participant," she said. "We want the participants to graduate from the Leadership Academy harboring strong feelings of significant growth and commitment to the association, their community and fellow REALTORS®.

Elko REALTOR® Marcella Syme (2012 graduate) and Las Vegas REALTOR® Stephanie Dibbs (2017 graduate) will serve as Trustees for the 2018 program while Las Vegas REALTOR® Julie Youngblood, the current Past Dean (2014 graduate), will help Kuptz lead the Academy's four sessions.

Kuptz is looking forward to another outstanding experience for class members in 2018.

"Through a cohesive Trustee group, I want to support a comfortable setting where open sharing and discussion can take place leading to strong personal growth," Kuptz said. "Leadership is selfless service for the benefit of the greater good. Anyone can lead with a decision followed by action with a servant's heart."

The incoming class will be the 19th to participate in the Nevada REALTORS® Leadership Academy, which began in 2000. More than 200 REALTOR® graduates of the program are now better serving clients and volunteering in leadership positions across Nevada since the program's inception.

Fair Housing: Promises of a Century
For REALTORS®, the Fair Housing Act is one of our nation's most significant laws guiding the real estate industry today. Usually we recognize it with Fair Housing Month, celebrated in April each year. 2018 is different, though, as we commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of this major milestone in our nation's efforts to bring greater equal opportunities in the rights to private property and housing.

As we commemorate this act, it is important to recognize that the way our country views property rights, and who has those rights, has been a struggle dating back at least since Europeans first came to North America. Read the complete article by clicking here.
