Silver State sweeps NAR's President's Cup honors

Nevada state, all five local associations earn the coveted award

Tell all your REALTOR® friends. The news is finally official. After learning in November that Nevada had met all the qualifications for NAR's prestigious President's Cup award, for excellence in Advocacy, REALTOR® leaders from around the state learned last week that the Silver State had indeed been bestowed with the celebrated honor.

"This is an amazing achievement by all and shows how amazing this great state of ours is," 2018 Nevada REALTORS® President Heidi Kasama said. "I am so proud to be a REALTOR® in Nevada. Greg Martin (2017 Nevada REALTORS® President) deserves high praise for his spirit and drive which spurred this great achievement."

Garnering the President's Cup award is a milestone achievement as Nevada had never previously earned the honor. This accomplishment recognizes that a record number of members are engaged in advocating for REALTOR® interests while protecting private property rights. While capturing President's Cup status for the first time alone makes Nevada's 2017 efforts impressive, there is more stellar news. All five local REALTOR® associations in Nevada also earned the President's Cup award. Nevada is the first and only state to have all of its local associations achieve the feat.

The criteria for states to earn the vaunted advocacy award are extensive. States must see a 20 percent response rate from members on NAR Calls for Action. Nevada did so with response rates of 20.42 and 34.86 percent in 2017's CFA campaigns on Reauthorization of Flood Control and Tax Reform. States must host a voter registration drive and a statewide broker involvement program as well as increase their number of mobile text alert subscribers.

Lastly, states must meet or exceed the following five RPAC goals: National RPAC Fundraising Goal, Federal RPAC Disbursements Allocation, 1 percent of membership as Major Investors, 10 percent of Major Investors as President's Circle members and 37 percent overall member participation.

"My thanks to each of you for the part you played in this amazing accomplishment, and to every one of our members who are invested in our industry," Martin said. "Nevada REALTORS® once again have set themselves apart as the gold standard when it comes to their advocacy efforts and investing in their future."
