A letter from your 2019 State President Keith Lynam
It was an amazing evening of celebration for Nevada REALTORS® we had at the SLS on Dec. 7. Hopefully we showed Heidi Kasama our gratitude for the wonderful job she performed as our 2018 Nevada REALTORS® State President.

We also bid adieu to our 2018 Board of Directors. They all went above and beyond in their service for our members. I'm especially grateful for my good friend, our past President Greg Martin, and his tireless efforts to "pull, drag, push, kick, punch and hug" all of us to be better and do more for our membership and our Political Survival Fund. Greg, we all owe you a debt of gratitude ... now take the weekend off and get back at it!

So now we find ourselves in 2019! You'll see #WhatsNext quite a bit over the next 12 months and you'll also see #WhatWeDid too!

First up will be our Legislative agenda for the Nevada Legislative session. The session begins in February and we will be raising the bar across the board for all prospective licensees and current licensees. We will be asking to increase the requirements for those entering our business as well as for those who are currently working within the industry. We are also going to put more responsibility upon our brokers to better serve our members as well as the consumer. New agents will be asked to complete their post licensing requirements BEFORE they can write any contracts without the direct supervision of their broker.

Along with increasing the ability for more effective fining for those who step outside of our laws or ethics, we are going to increase our professionalism in our industry at every level. And that's just #WhatsNext for the first quarter of 2019. Stay tuned!
