GLVAR global members host Spanish contingent

 Sixty-three Spanish and Portuguese delegates of SIRA, The Spanish International Realty Alliance, visited Las Vegas for the annual CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) Convention at Caesar's Palace last month. SIRA is the only Spanish Real Estate Association that is a member of The National Association of REALTORS®. The organization is committed to training and professional ethics for the international real estate industry.
Francisco Fernandez Ariza, a REALTOR® from Spain, led the CRS designees on their trip to Las Vegas. He did a great job, contacting Vira Ferreira, NAR's 2019 Global Ambassador to Andorra, Italy, Portugal and Spain and making her aware of the delegation's travel plans to the city. Vira called Tiffany Shapouri, the 2019 Global Business Chair for GLVAR and informed her of the SIRA group's southern Nevada visit. From there, the collaboration was on. NAR offers resources for data privacy and security

 Technology has dramatically increased the amount of consumer data collected and used by businesses. Several recent high profile data breaches, coupled with a high rate of identity theft crime has made data security and consumer privacy a hot issue for policymakers in Washington.
REALTORS® strongly support efforts to protect consumers' sensitive personal information. The REALTOR® code of Ethics and Standards of Practice explicitly acknowledge a REALTOR's® obligation to preserve the confidentiality of personal information provided by clients in the course of any agency or non-agency relationship-both during and after the termination of these business relationships. REALTORS® support for data protection measures is also bolstered by their day-to-day business activities where they see first hand the damage that identity theft can do to a family's ability to rent an apartment or buy a home. This resource will provide REALTORS® with current information on policy efforts underway in Washington to regulate data security and consumer privacy. NVR members asked to keep account info up to date

 Nevada REALTORS® invites its members from across the state to check and update their personal profiles in RAMCO, which members can log into at NVAR.org. Members can also contact their local associations to provide updated account information.
It is vital that members keep their profile information -- including their current email address -- up to date. Current contact information allows NVR and NAR to reach members with important information regarding billing, Calls to Action and upcoming events. Additionally, without a current email address, members could miss out on valuable information from NVR's weekly newsletter and the Advocate, which focuses on statewide legislative news.
