  GLOBAL: Dubai in December
By Karen Smith, NVR GBC member
I had the pleasure of visiting Dubai in December of 2018. My visit was two-fold. I spent the first two days attending and representing Las Vegas at the Etouce Immigration & Investment Industry Elite Party 2018 with six other REALTORS®, representing different areas of the U.S. We spoke with locals as well as other international representatives.

The second half of the trip was spent touring new development projects around Dubai, a visit to the Dubai Land Development Meeting and a Damac Real Estate promotional luncheon. We had the good fortune of being sponsored by the CEO of Century 21 United Arab Emirates, Shadi Bteddini and his company. Click here to continue reading.

  NAR launching REALTOR safety network

The National Association of REALTORS® is committed to the safety of its members. Through the REALTOR® Safety Network, NAR will deploy REALTOR® Safety Alerts via social media when a physical or cyberthreat to REALTORS® warrants national attention. For example:

  • A pattern of assaults against REALTORS® has been reported.
  • A REALTOR® or the immediate family member of a REALTOR® goes missing.
  • NAR learns that the association name or the names of its programs are being used fraudulently to attempt to collect money or information from REALTORS® or others.

For incidents that don't meet the criteria for a national alert, the REALTOR® Safety Team will ensure the local association is informed. Click here for more details.

Application process now open for 2020 NAR committees

For REALTOR® members interested in sitting on a 2020 NAR committee, the selection process opened earlier this month. The committee application website will be open through May 1. NAR members can submit a committee application for up to five committees and seek up to three endorsements per application.

Top 6 things you'll love (and hate) about selling a home this spring

For many home sellers, there's no better time to list than the spring, and for good reason: This is peak home-buying season, folks! Buyers turn out in droves once warmer weather finally arrives, bringing people out of hibernation mode, and bidding wars abound as buyers look for ways to one-up their competition.

The bad news? Selling a home during the spring isn't free of pitfalls. Click here to continue reading.
