Region XI Conference hosted in Arizona

 More than 200 REALTORS® gathered in suburban Phoenix earlier this month to network, share ideas, learn new trends and host a caucus. 2019 RVP Paula Monthofer, of Arizona, hosted the annual Region XI Conference April 10-12 at the Wigwam Resort in Litchfield, AZ.
"As always, the region conference is a great chance to interact with our peers in the adjacent states," 2019 Nevada REALTORS® President Keith Lynam said. "We experience similar challenges and we experience different challenges. The region conference is a great place to discuss our issues with formal programming as well as informal conversations."
The Nevada REALTORS® leaders and others in attendance heard about Operation Gratitude, supporting our military members and their families as well as how military lessons can be applied in the real estate profession. There was also a session on the wide-ranging value of VA loans. Programming on providing value as a leader and integrating video in day-to-day real estate operations was also included.
Dave Tina, the 2016 Nevada REALTORS® President, will be the RVP next year, meaning the Silver State will host the 2020 Region XI Conference. It is set for April 15-17 at the J.W. Marriott Las Vegas Resort and Spa. |

Region XI Conference promotes military values, cultivating military clients

 Service and Leadership were key themes earlier this month during the Region XI Conference, hosted by the Arizona Association of REALTORS® at the Wigwam Resort in west suburban Phoenix. That was evident from the opening reception through the final programming session two days later.
2019 Region XI Vice President Paula Monthofer kicked off the three-day conference Wednesday, April 10 with a welcome reception that featured a contest and resulted in participating REALTOR® teams filling care packages for U.S. soldiers. National Prescription Drug Take Back Day set for Saturday
 The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) hosts National Prescription Drug Take Back Day twice a year to help communities across the country safely dispose of their unused medications. At a time when individuals and families are seeking ways to properly dispose of their unused medications, these two dates present a unique opportunity to take action.
Too often, home medicine cabinets play a role in potential addiction. By safely disposing of unused prescription medications, we can all help prevent a child, loved one or friend from misusing medicines that were not prescribed to them.

Report: Gen Z Is Already Saving for a Home

 Get ready for Gen Z. People between the ages of 18 and 23 are eager to become homeowners, and many are already setting aside money for a down payment.
More than half of Gen Zers surveyed said they are saving for a home, and 59 percent say they plan to buy a home within the next five years-before they reach the age of 30-according to Bank of America's Homebuyer Insights Report, which is based on responses from nearly 2,000 people. U.S. News & World Report ranks Biggest Little City 33rd
 Although it often plays second fiddle to Las Vegas, Reno, Nevada, may be the more attractive option for those considering a move to the Southwest for a number of reasons. Perhaps most importantly, there's much less sin associated with this city: Despite the fact that Reno was built on the gaming industry, it's very easy for residents to completely avoid the casinos. Reno residents have a wealth of cultural events and outdoor activities at their fingertips.
America's Biggest Little City is without a doubt a tourist town, and locals benefit from the area's status as a vacation destination. Reno and the towns surrounding it are home to a number of highly rated restaurants, and the event calendar is always full. Meanwhile, there's plenty to satisfy outdoorsy residents. The Truckee River, which snakes through downtown, is a popular open space where people can kayak, tube, swim and more. Outside Reno proper, the Sierra Nevada range provides hiking and biking, while Lake Tahoe, with several ski resorts dotting its perimeter, is about an hour's drive away.
