Before the October 22 meeting, residents have a critical opportunity to weigh in and share their concerns. The Council is accepting public input right now, and your voice could make a real difference as they weigh options that make sense for Bend.
The proposal will bring the city one step closer to implementing new housing impact fees – a new tax designed to raise the cost of building and buying homes with natural gas. Natural gas keeps families safe and warm during winter storms and keeps Bend’s energy system reliable.
Impact fees are upfront costs on builders that get passed directly to consumers, making housing even less affordable. This undermines our community’s commitment to improving housing affordability.
Take action now!
Contact your City Council members and urge them to protect energy choice and housing affordability by using the form on this page!
Additionally, please join your Bend neighbors at the October 15 City Council meeting to encourage City Council to make the right choice for Bend.
