Urge State Lawmakers to End NYC/Long Island Natural Gas Moratorium by Approving NESE Project
REALTORS, your action is needed: Urge Governor Cuomo and state lawmakers to support the Northeast Supply Enhancement (NESE) Project which will help expand critical natural gas supply to homeowners and businesses in New York City and Long Island. National Grid has issued a moratorium on new residential and commercial natural gas hookups and conversions in the region due to supply constraints and growing demand.

We need your help to tell state lawmakers to urge the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) to approve this project without delay in order to mitigate further economic damages. Already, approximately 3,000 applications (and growing) for new natural gas hookups or conversions have been put on hold, jeopardizing current and future residential and commercial real estate transactions, affordable housing projects, major developments and small businesses.

Approval of the NESE Project is also necessary to help the state lower its dependence on dirty fossil fuels and meet the growing energy demands of New York City and Long Island residents. Further delay by the state to approve the new gas line will only result in continued hardships for residents, businesses and REALTORS.

Take Action today - Tell your lawmakers to support the NESE Project.
