Oppose The New Brooklyn Cease and Desist Zone Proposal

TAKE ACTION - OPPOSE BROOKLYN CEASE AND DESIST ZONE

On July 1, 2020, the Department of State issued a newly proposed cease and desist zone that would cover parts of the neighborhoods of Cypress Hill and East New York in Brooklyn. The new zone could become effective November 1, 2020.

NYSAR strongly opposes the creation of a new cease and desist zone and believes the action by the Department of State is overly restrictive and unwarranted. Additionally, imposing any cease and desist zone only harms legitimate licensed real estate professionals while ineffectively allowing unlicensed individuals to continue their practices unfettered. Cease and desist zones do not provide any remedy for the activities of unlicensed individuals.

Take Action today and tell lawmakers that imposing a cease and desist zone in Brooklyn is not the answer.
