In 2024 NYSSBA delegates voted to approve the position statement "NYSSBA supports legislation that would grant judges the ability to require bail in cases of violent threats against school districts and/ or staff and/or students at school districts. "  Since then, we have been advocating in support of this legislative change.  Join us for a day of virtual meetings advocating for the support of S.8163/A.6597 that would amend the criminal procedure law, in relation to authorizing bail for certain offenses involving threats of mass harm against a school district, school, school staff or a student.
