South Carolina Needs More Credible Immigration Enforcement Right Now!
Rep. Mike Burns's H. 3030 Does Just That!
Representative Burns's House Joint Resolution requires ALL South Carolina county and municipal law enforcement agencies to request to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), granting them the authority to perform specified immigration officer functions under ICE's direction and oversight in the Palmetto State.
Due to the escalating consequences of mass migration, the 287(g) program is now more important than ever for every South Carolina county and municipal agency. By working in collaboration with ICE, local South Carolina law enforcement can ensure that foreign nationals who commit crimes in the Palmetto State are not merely released back into the community but detained in coordination with ICE, which then begins the deportation process.

The ICE 287(g) program is a partnership between local law enforcement agencies and ICE. Its primary aim is to promote public safety by assisting in identifying and removing criminal aliens from our communities. Under this program, when an illegal alien is encountered by local law enforcement, ICE is notified, and appropriate action can be taken to remove the alien before the alien is released back into the community.
287(g) is crucial to protecting South Carolina communities!
By prioritizing the identification and removal of illegal aliens already in direct contact with local law enforcement, the program prevents potential harm to U.S. citizens while allowing local law enforcement to maintain community trust through cooperation with federal agencies.
The Consequences of Mass Migration Cannot be Ignored!
Every South Carolina County and Municipal Law Enforcement Agency MUST enter 287(g)!
