Congress is now considering how to spend federal resources for the next fiscal year. With so many competing priorities, it is critical that the new Congress understands how important it is to fund ovarian cancer research and education programs. For the next fiscal year we are requesting:
- $15M for Johanna's Law to promote education and awareness around all gynecologic cancers.
- $20M for the Ovarian Cancer Control Initiative to improve provider education, high-risk screening, and clinical adherence to ovarian cancer practice guidelines.
- $50M for the Ovarian Cancer Research Program within the DoD's Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program - the only program dedicated to ovarian cancer research within the federal government.
Funding at this level would represent a small increase over current funding levels but could have a major impact on the lives of people across the country who have been or could be affected by ovarian cancer. Please take action today!
